Oporto Tour - Day 1 

 

Morning: Start the day with a visit to Oporto Cathedral, considered National Heritage since 1910. Enjoy the incredible view over the city. From here you have two options: take a step back and take the best pictures of the Ribeira from the top of the D. Luís I Bridge or visit Jardim do Morro, in Vila Nova de Gaia and discover the mythical Serra do Pilar.  
 

The second option requires you to explore the typical quarters of the city which, through narrow streets, invite you to go to the riverside area of the Douro River. There, you can enjoy the various terraces by the banks and try some snacks. Afternoon: One of the city's landmarks is the beautiful São Bento train station, photograph its tile panels. After enjoying a francesinha, from cervejaria Brasão, for example, there's nothing like taking advantage of the proximity for a walk to the renovated Bolhão market. Here you will find the freshest products in town, but also the friendliness of its traders.  
 

Continue to the beautiful Avenida dos Aliados, where you can glimpse the historic buildings of the city's main square, as well as the imposing building where the Porto City Hall is located. If you are a fan of Hard Rock Cafés, this is the area you will find Porto. But since you are here, start thinking about the climb to the: we promise that the view that awaits you is worth all the stairs you must climb. 
 

Afterwards? It's simple: visit one of the most beautiful bookshops in the world: the Lello. To finish your afternoon, there's nothing like discovering the Virtudes Garden, which offers one of the most beautiful sunsets. 
 

Night: If you had francesinha for lunch, there's nothing like trying another ex-libris for dinner. In Praça dos Poveiros you will find Casa Guedes, which offers one of the most irresistible dishes in town: the ham sandwiches with cheese from the mountains. Oporto Tour - Day 2
